The Law

Jesus Christ came down to the earth not to do away with the law he gave to Moses but to fulfill the law. The law was never meant to save anyone because no one could ever keep its commandments. The law was setup for the Israelites, and you and me to show us the sin in our lives. The law was setup for the sacrifice of our sinful nature and every year the Rabbi did his rituals in the temple to remove the sins of the people. But this was only a temporary solution. We needed something or someone to come and make a sacrifice for our sins once and for all. And that one was Jesus Christ. He was the one who could remove the sins of the people once and for all.

And that is what he did. His work on Calvary was completed when He drew His last breath and said to God, “it is finished”. He abolished the law and anyone who believed in Him is now saved by grace through faith not by keeping the law. It is fascinating to me that most Israelites today still live under the law. They don’t believe that Jesus ever came down to the earth as their Messiah. They are still waiting for their Messiah to come. They were looking for a man that would save them from the Roman Empire and set up His kingdom on earth to rule and reign. They weren’t looking for a man who was nailed to a cross. They didn’t believe that Jesus Christ in the flesh was their great Messiah.

So a lot of Israelites are still living under the law and sacrificing for their sins. I pray for these Israelites, Gods chosen earthly people that they would pick up the New Testament and read about their Messiah and how He came down to earth to save all the people from their sins who would believe on Him.

Do you believe that some Israelites who live under the law don’t even own or believe in the New Testament? Well they don’t. They are awaiting their King to come and save them from their bondage. They are still praying at the Wailing Wall daily for Christ’s return to set up his kingdom on this earth. Let’s pray for these people as they are blinded by the fact that their Messiah has already come to save them once and for all.

The law was setup to show us our sins. If Jesus Christ never gave Moses the law the Israelites wouldn’t know what sin was. They had no guidelines of the sinful nature of man until the law was written. Now we are saved by grace and not by the law. Thank you Jesus for stripping yourself of all holiness and being so humble as to come down to this earth as a mere man, the ones you have created to save us from our sins. That tells me that you love us very much and Amen to that.

If you would like to learn more about the law in relation to the Israelites and all Christians, please visit my website at: http://www.truelifelivingbooks.com and read The End of the Law: Mosaic Covenant in Pauline Theology By Jason Meyer and Law and Grace: A Study of New Testament Concepts as They Relate to the Christian Life By Alva J. McClain. These books are a good read because a lot of people get hung up on whether we are under law or grace.

Thank you and God Bless…
